"Questions about temporary work in canada "

   Dear sir,
I'm a chinese engineer and working here in montreal on a contract between a canadian company and my company in china. I got some questions concerning work permit and immigration as follows:
1. If the canadian company gives me a job offer after my current term is ended, what is the maximum duration a job offer can provide ? and so is the work permit ?
2. If I work here after the current term with work permit, do I have to pay taxation for my income ? (you know I don't pay presently. Maybe it's because I'm here on public affair. What if on personal affair ?) If yes, how much would that be?
3. Can my wife and daughter(6 year old )study here?
4. Can I study here by part-time ?

Looking forward to your early reply.

thanks alot.

   1. Employment authorizations are most often granted for one to two years. The merits of the application for extension would be assessed to determined the allowed duration.

2. You should consult with a taxation specialist to determine your liability. Certain foreign professionals are granted taxation exemptions, which may apply to extensions of the employment authorization.

3, 4. Yes, but it would be necessary to obtain student authorizations.

I AM A UNIVERSITY STUDENT IN MY FIRST YEAR BUT WISH TO TRANSFER TO CANADA AND COMPLETE MY DEGREE AT A UNIVERSITY THERE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT I FIRST WISH TO WORK TO ACQUIRE THE FUNDS TO PAY FOR MYSELF THEN ENROLL AT A UNIVERSITY THERE AFTER.

I WAS WONDERING IF I COULD OBTAIN A WORK PERMIT WHICH WOULD ENABLE ME TO WORK TO ACQUIRE THE FUNDS TO PAY FOR MYSELF.
