I am a tourist who's visiting Canada at the moment and I have two questions. First, can I apply for a student visa from within Canada, or do I have to apply from a different country?
Second, I've been told that an international student who graduates in a Canadian institute is automatically granted a temporary employment authorization for a period of one year. Is this true? If yes, then what exactely are the conditions of such an authorization? Is it limited to a university degree or a certificate program?

The E08 exemption does allow graduating foreign students to obtain an employment authorization for a position directly related to the field of their Canadian education.
