   Dear sir or madam:

I'm a graduate student in UBC now and my wife will join me in the near future (visitor visa). Could you please tell me if she may work here? If not, what can she do to be employed legally? Many Thanks.

   The spouse of a Canadian foreign student who is admitted to Canada as a temporary resident legally would generally be granted open employment authorization for the same duration as the student authorization.
