"Family Class or Independent Status"

Hi everyone. What a great site this is...I find it quite interesting. My problem is this: A year ago, I met a Canadian and have been visiting here from the States since last May. Our plans are to eventually marry, however, his financial status isn't the greatest. (He isn't bankrupt) Would I be better off to apply for Independent Status, or go with the Family Act, and have him sponser me as a fiancee, and risk being rejected because of his financial status? Also, is there anyway to continue to live here while my application is being processed? |
