I would like to ask if I have to file a tax return for 2001. I became PR last year but have resided for a short period of time in Canada. During that period I havn't had a job in Canada but I did work abroad. So I had income from a source abroad and the salary was paid abroad as well. I did pay taxes on that income in the country where I worked. Would I have however to pay income tax and / or file a tax return in Canada as well.
