"What to do with 401k after moving back to Canada?"

I am a Canadian citizen who was working in the US for 2 years and have moved back in the last year. During my work there, I contributed to a 401k plan. I cannot find information anywhere on what my options are now that I plan to stay in Canada. The mutual fund company isn't even sure if I can rollover the 401k to an IRA if I'm not a resident nor a citizen of the US. Also, is there any way to transfer the money into an RRSP here or would I be faced with doing a cash distribution and paying tax at the current Canadian income tax rate?

Thanks for any help.
