Kris,Firstly, I think you will need to prepare yourself to be flexible. You might not be doing your dream job right from the start. Try to have enough clarity to notice hidden opportunities.
Secondly, try to have as positive of an attitude as possible. Work your communication skills and your ability to radiate a sense of confidence. As I have said in other posts, employers want to be convinced that you can help them to make money. They are not that concerned about creating your dream job, THEY JUST WANT TO MAKE A PROFIT. If you can demonstrate skills that can help a company succeed, then you are halfway there.
Finally, don't we afraid to learn new things. Show that you have a drive to learn and that you can adapt to new tools and procedures.
You have a large amount of experience in a focussed field. Have a broad enough vision to consider positions that relate to what you have done but are not exactly in that genre.
