"Import-export management. Any chance?"

   Hi,

I'm from Argentina and I wonder what chances would I have to get a job in the import-export management field.

I'm 32 and I have studies an experience. However, my experience is mainly as a self-employed.
I worked for a couple of companies (electronics and foodstuff) but after three years, I was dedicated almost exclusively to work as an import-export agent on behalf of some small and medium sized companies.

Since I have little experience as and employee and a considerable experience as self employed, would it be an advantage or a disadvantage to the eyes of a canadian employer?

Here, some people appreciate self motivation and iniciative for working independently, but many believe that the lack of experience in the private sector is a disadvantage and that a previous independence is a sign of lack of commitment for a potential employer.
What should I expect in Canada?

I also wonder if the spanish language is appreciated today as a working skill.

Any answer would be highly appreciated...
