"Immigration Officer"

I am strongly interested in becoming an immigration/visa officer/agent after my graduation of university. I am enrolled in the BA Economics degree currently, and I wonder if I will absolutely need a Law degree in order to achieve my goal? I have checked out government sites and I was unable to find job openings for Immigration officers..I wonder whether they even recruit through the internet, or do they usually hire those specialists by referrals?
Thank you very much!

Immigration Officers for the Government are sourced through applications to the Public Service of Canada. You can access this through --> http://jobs.gc.ca/

In terms of being an immigration consultant or agent, your question would be better aimed at David Cohen who also is part of this forum.

Regards

Harry
