   I've done Masters in Labour Studies from India and have 2 years experience in this field as a personnel officer. At present I'm in US and cannot work because of H4 visa status. Since we have Canadian immigration now, we have one year from now to land in Canada. What are my chances in Human Resources field in Canada? Do I need to take up some additional HR course in Canada or are my qualifications enough to get me a good HR job?

   You will need to familiarize yourself with Canadian Emplyment Law. There is a Federal Code and Individual Codes for each Province. Human Resources is not easily transferable from country to country as is accounting or technology. There are cultural aspects that play a huge role too. Further education on HR in Canada would be an asset.

At the present time, there is not as much growth in HR as we have seen in the last 5 years. We have many companies going though layoffs right now so the last thing they need are additional HR people. Hopefullu things will change in the near future.
