"I manage a studio of web designers in London"

   A bit about me...
I have a background in print production and have for the last year been in charge of the studio in a global web solutions company netdecisions - I am very keen to move to Canada to give my children a more interesting and stimulating upbringing than I feel London might offer them. Other motivations are based on the relative property prices and the "outdoor" lifestyle living in BC might offer us.

I am new to this community and would be keen to find some people in a similar situation so we could explore some these issues, swap storied, ideas, fears.

I feel rather lost trying to get my head around all the issues and the immigration process itself - seems quite hard to do on the surface... is it?

anyone out there...?

I am in London too. I work for http://www.ovum.com>Ovum and now trying to immigrate to Canada. I've been looking for a job for quite a while and so far have not had much luck. I would consider myself an IT professional with over a year of experience in web developemnt/programming. I am also Sun Certified Java Programmer. In spite of that I find it difficult to find a job in Canada. It's a bit frustrating but I suppose it's because I am not currently in Canada and the companies do not want to go over all the paperwork hassle. May be someone has any suggestions/tips on finding a job. I would really appreciate it.
Scott, feel free to email me and may be we can exchange some ideas/experience on the immigration
Peter

   Scott,

As I see, there has not been a lot of discussion in relation to your posting. I recommend that you go into Yahoo Chat. There is a room for British Columbia in there where you potentially could develop contacts.

The Immigration process can seem like a mountain, but when you work with experts in the field, then things make more sense. I recommend that you contact David Cohen in this forum and he can walk you through the process.

Harry
