"SAP jobs"
Dear Harry,

I intend to land in Canada in the next 6-9 months. I am in the Financial Services Industry and I have an MBA from the US. Presently I am working in India. I would like to know what kind of courses can I do while sitting in India that will help with my job search in Canada. Some job postings state a requirement for the Canadian Securities Course from the Canadian Securities Institute. Is this a recognized course for the industry? What other course would benefit me? What are the salaries like for Financial professionals in the Investment industry.
Would it be more advisable to do a course like SAP to add to my resume? Are jobs more freely available for SAP consultants? What kind of pay can SAP consultants expect?

Thanks for your help.

I strongly recommend that you pursue a career in SAP or JD Edwards. There is a lack of strong SAP Consultants in the market. I recommend that you focus on the functional side than on the technical side. Experience with SAP FI/CO modules is very much in demand. Someone with only the course certification of SAP could be asking for $50 000. A SAP Analyst with a minimum of 2 implementations under his belt can ask for a minimum of $80 000.
SAP positions are available all across Canada with key spots like Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal.

Best of luck

Harry

Thanks so much for your help and advise. This website is truly very helpful and I recommend it highly!!

As a follow up to my earlier query on SAP jobs, you mentioned that after 2 implementations, one could earn upto $80,000. How long is a typical implementation? Out of the various packages available-- SAP, JD Edwards, Peoplesoft, Oracle Financial etc. which one is most in demand and which one pays the best?

Thanks again for your help.

V
