"Should I really move to Toronto or Vancouver?"
Hello,

I will be appyling for immigration next year. I am interested in living in Victoria, B.C. and will be visiting there in late spring to see if I like it. My problem is that most people I meet tell me that I should move to Toronto or Vancouver since I am working in e-commerce and systems anaylsis. I know that there will be more job opportunities in both cities, but are there really no jobs in Victoria? I am asking because I have begun to rethink my trip to Victoria and have been wondering if I should go to Toronto instead so I can see it for myself.

Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Most head offices are located in the Greater Toronto Area but there are areas of growth across Canada in e-commerce. Burnaby, British Columbia is considered the Silicon Valley of Western Canada. As far as job opporunities go, I think you will find opportunity in both areas. In regards to living standards, the cost of living is very high in Toronto. The surroundings will most likely be more pleasant for you in BC. It really will come down to a matter of choice to you. What is important to you? Cost of living, geography, culture, etc.

Both these areas have their strengths and weaknesses. Look into it. In terms of employment, there should be opportunity in both locations.

Harry
