krish35 (5 posts) 02-Feb-01, 03:25 PM (GMT) "Employment Oppurtunities for Pharmaceutical Sales Reps" Hi Everyone, I am a prospective Canadian Immigrant hoping to be in Toronto by June/July 02.I have 12 years+ experience working as a Medical Representative, all with Hoechst Marion Roussel ltd, a leader in the pharma industry. I am graduate in Sciece with excellent working Knowledge in using PC office Suites like MS Office and lotus smart suite.What would be my chances of getting a break as a Sales Representative with a decent pharma co? I am getting trained in Software Programming(Visual Basic & ASP). Would that be of any use, and is it advisable to shift into Software Jobs,given the fact i have a huge experience in Pharma Selling. "RE: Employment Oppurtunities for Pharmaceutical Sales Reps" Krish, These jobs do exist but I have to tell you that the pharmaceutical capital of Canada is in Montreal. Many of the sales positions require people that are bilingual. This does not mean that there are no positions in the Toronto area. It seems like you have a very good background. If you are good at sales than you should have no problem selling yourself. I would not worry too much with the exception of our sagging economy. The weak U.S economy is impacting us now and I don't know what it will be like when you arrive. Keep your eyes on our markets and our unemployment rates.
