"telecommunications"
Any pointers for a British Telecom engineer applying for PR regarding employment opportunities in Ontario, (specialist employment agencies etc) particularly in the area of microwave radio installation or cellular radio installation and ariel rigging, or broadband services over optical fibre. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Matt,

There are quite a number of positions available across Canada for Telecom Engineers (Microwave, RF, Broadband, Wireless). If you are focused on Ontario, the Ottawa region (Nation's Capital)is probably best known as the Center of the Telecom Industry. You can also find quite a bit of activity in Montreal, Quebec.

Just a heads up...one UK Pound equals 2.12 Canadian Dollars. Keep this in mind. Also make sure that you research the tax structure of Canada and it's Provinces. Some people that come into Canada from Europe get a shock of how we are taxed here.

Your best bet is to check job boards (Monster.ca, Canadiancareers.com, etc) and also verify Headhunters that could help you...(try looking into www.jobbus.com). It lists many Agencies and also can direct you to other resources for your job search.

Thanks for you inquiry and good luck,

Harry
