"IT jobs"

   Dear Harry,

I plan to take a short term course to enhance my skills and add to my previous qualification of an MBA from the U.S. I will be taking this course in E-Commerce. I would like to know what software programming languages (JAVA, Oracle)and international certifications (MSCE, MSCD) are in demand and what kind of pay can one expect with these skill sets.

Thanks a lot

Vishal Gulhati

   Vishal,

E Commerce tools in demand are the following: Java (servlets and applets), VisualAge for Java, Websphere, CORBA, Oracle, and a few others. There is a lack of developers and architects in this field. What is needed is a minimum of 5 years in OO Programming (C, C++, CORBA) and 3 years in Java...any addition of Visual Age and/or Websphere will help your chances greatly.

Salaries can range from 65K and up.

Take care

Harry

   Hi Harry,
I am working in California (US) right now. I have been working here since Dec'99. I have almost three years experience in C++, VC++, VB, COM/DCOM , MTS etc and also on Java related technologies like Servlets, EJB, Weblogic. I am MCSD and also Sun Certified Programmer for Java. What do you think are my chances of getting a good job.

Thanks
Sarfraj
