"Education Points Query"

   Dear Sir,

Please Clarify my doubt that I have studied Bachelors and upto Masters degree in Computer Application for total of 5 years continuously but our classes were held on weekends for more than 15 hours including practicals at an authorised study centre. Now according to the definition of Full-time by Canadian Govt. at the site

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/qual-5-1.html

our category fall under full time and I can prove that in weekdays our classes were held on average 18 hours inclusive of all instructions.According to the University prospectus we have to complete 32 credits per year in our degree and 1 credit is equal to 30 hours of instructions. This comes out to be 960 hours of study per year. Even if we take average of this it comes out to be approx. 20 per week inclusive of 2 months in which examinations are held.

Can we grant ourselves full 25 points according to this definition.
If yes then can we retain your services to commence the case further for immigration.

Gurmeet Singh

If the full time equivalent of the hours you studied exceeds 15 hours per week, and the total full time (or equivalent) years of study exceeded 17 years, then you would appear to be entitled to 25 points on the Education factor. However, you should not count the months in which exams are scheduled, as these do not consititute class roome study.

If you wish to retain the services of this firm, I would recommend that you start by completing an online assessment.
