"Common law spouse"
 
   Dear Sirs,

I am really not sure that what is the exactly meaning of "Common law spouse"
In my case, I and my wife got married 5 yrs. already, we have 2 kids but we didn't have a marriage certificate.
A case like this, can we been called common law spouse.
If we are not, what should we do next?

   As long as you can document a minimum of one year of cohabitation, you will qualify as common-law spouses.
