"common-law partner"

   Hi,

Can you please explain to me what a commo-law-partner is? Is this, according to the law, u're spouse or can it be a person u've been living with and have prove of shared household without being married? I, for instances, have been living with my partner for about 6 years now without being married. Would my partner, according to the canadian law, be my common-law partner?

Thnxs,

G!

Evidence of cohabitation for a period of a minimum of one year would be considered sufficient allow an applicant to qualify as a common law partner for the purpose of immigration to Canada.
