I am a Canadian Permenant Resident and a landed immigrant. As per the new Bill C-11, which is to be implemented on 28th June 2002,permenant residents of Canada can remain out of Canada for upto three years. I landed in Canada in Nov 2001, and I am planning to leave Canada on 10th June 2002 for working abroad. Can I stay outside Canada upto three years?
As per the present regulations in effect, I am eligible to apply for a RRP at a Canadian Counsulate abroad also. But after 28th June 2002, RRP will not be issued.
Does this mean that I can stay outside Canada upto three years. Awaiting reply from Mr. Cohen.
