"Transfer of funds prior to getting Immigration Visa"
 
   I have passed my interview, my medicals and also paid my Right of Landing Fees. I am supposed to transfer 16000 CAD to a Canadian Bank for my case to be considered for visa. Being a citizen of India, I am not supposed to transfer funds prior to immigration as per Reserve Bank of India rules. Can anyone help? Can CHC demand such a thing? Can I ask anyone's help to request the CHC to waive off this demand and instead ask for the funds at the port of entry?

   The CHC is trying to determine that your funds are transferrable to Canada. There are no provisions in the law for such establishment of settlement funds, but an immigration official is granted considerable discretion in determining if a candidate is likely to be able to successfully settle in Canada.

If you can document that the local laws will not allow you to conduct the requested transfer, it is possible that the immigration officials may be willing to waive this requirement. They will likely require additional evidence of the possession of the funds and the transferability of such in order to be willing to consider this, however.
