"waiting period for spousal sponsorship application from Islamabad"
| |
Hello, my wife, a Canadian citizen, recently sponsored me through the spousal sponsorship application. It was recently approved by Mississauga. The relevant documents are ready to be submitted to Islamabad. I would like to know how long would it take considering the "reduced visa operations" mentioned below. And also, what are the chances of an interview waiver? >On Tuesday, October 9, 2001, Citizenship and Immigration Canada >reduced its visa operations in Islamabad, Pakistan, because of >the latest military operations in the region. The reduced >services reflect the workload capacity of limited staff and the >appropriate security precautions needed to control entry into >Canada. >PRIORITY APPLICATIONS >Priority will be given to processing applications from spouses >of Canadian citizens or returning residents who want to >accompany their spouse to Canada, some business visitors and >VIP/host government officials with urgent legitimate reasons to >travel to Canada, temporary workers urgently needed in the >Canadian labour market who have an approved Human Resources >Development Canada job validation, and other legitimate cases >as warranted.
