"Do I Qualify to sponsor my Fiancée"

I landed in Canada last year and then applied for RRP (I was going to school in US). I resumed my Residence in Canada last month (after my graduation).

I'm working for a respectable company and am making good money. I want to get married with my Fiancee, but my last year tax returns do not show any income (I was in school).

I want to go to My country of citizenship and get married in January 2002 ( that gives me 5 months from today).

Q) Do I qualify to sponsor my fiancée although I meet LICO and all the other financial and legal requirements but I dont have the INCOME history of 12 months ?
Q) Is 5 months enough for processing the fiancée sponsorship?

Please Help! all of my plans depend on your reply.

Regards,

Khawaja

   1. If you had earned a sufficient amount of income in the duration of your residence in Canada, even if 12 full months had not passed, you should be eligible as a sponsor.

2. The processing delays would depend largely on the visa office involved. Even in the best of cases, however, 5 months is optimistic.

Its 2 months since I came back to Canada from US where I finished my school.

I dont have 12 months of income history in Canada and my Tax return shows the same.

My salary right now is 3500$/month and in the sponsorship application I have also attached my Pay stubs(for two pay cheques I got).

Please tell me what kinda difficulties would I face. Every thing was fine in the sponsor ship agree ment ONLY thing that it lacked was income history or 12 months.

I have also heard that CIC is linient on LICO for Fiance/Spouse sponsorship? The application is submitted but I am worried What Question can they raise? Please Help! Help! Help!

In the absence of sufficient income, there is a real risk that your eligibility as a sponsor may be denied. The only exception generally made to such income requirements is in the case of a spousal sponsorship application.
