"US citizen spouse: apply through skilled worker or family ?"

I will be married to a US citizen in Niovember of 2001 in the US. After marriage, will head back to Canada and she will follow in about 6 months after wrapping up her job etc. in the US.
My question: would it better (as in faster) for her to apply as a Skilled Worker or as a wife of a permanenet resident since she has a Bachelors degree and has 2+ years work experience ? can she go to canada to stay with me while her skiled worker application in the Buffalo consulate is being processed ? while she is in canada and if she finds employment, can she use NAFTA to work while her PR application is being processed ?
If she applys as a skilled worker, do we still have to prove that we are married (she will mention that in the application but I suppose we shouldn't since the application is not based on marriage) since that is quite a hassle in terms of proving how we met, pictures from wedding etc etc.
your advice is appreciated. I did use you law firm during my emigration and I have to say your services are impeccable and professional.

I am glad that we were able to assist you to your satisfaction.

Your future spouse would appear to have three options in regards to her permanent resident status:

1. Apply now for sponsorship as a fiancee.

2. Apply now as a skilled worker. This makes the assumption that she is qualified. You may conduct an online assessment if you wish to receive confirmation.

3. Apply for sponsorsip as a spouse, once married. This can be done inland or abroad.

Options 1 and 2 would likely be quicker to conclude, largely because you could start earlier. If she marries while one of these applications is in process, the case must be amended at the visa office. She could seek admission to Canada on a temporary basis (inclduing employment authorization) while awaiting conclusion of such an application.

If, prior to or following the marriage, she is admitted to Canada as a visitor, you would be eligible to process an inland spousal sponsorship. This would allow her to obtain an open employment authorization following Approval in Principle. If you decide to wait until you are married, this would liklely be preferable to an application abroad.

There are numerous factors at play here, which may make the above a little confusing.
