"Working US for Cnd Employer Temp Move to Canada"

My husband and I have a unique situation:
I am a Canadian citizen. Ihave been working for a Canadian employer (that is registered in the states) for 5 years. I will be getting my green card Mar 2nd.

My husband is a US Citizen, who is working for a US Company that also has offices in Canada and is registered in Canada.

My mother is ill. We would both like to go up to Canada to spend approx. 6 months to a year with her. My company is willing to pay me in US funds to my US bank account as per usual, basically I am just visiting Canada but will still be working out of my home for my Canadian/US company.

My husband can make arrangements to work out of the Canadian office of his company and either way get paid in Canadian funds or in US funds to his US bank account or to a Canadian bank account.

If we maintain our home here in the states (as this is only a temporary leave) and we both work and rent up in Canada for the 6 mos to 1 year - are their any adverse implications to this.

I do not want to lose my US naturalization time (as it will start upon receiving my Green Card).

What are the implications of doing this?

Your spouse will be required to obtain an employment authorization in order to be eligible to work at the Canadian division of his employer. His best opportunity would be to seek eligibility under NAFTA.

Your questions otherwise appear to be concerning US immigration issues. OUr expertise is in the immigration laws of Canada.
