If you get married before you land, you should return your landing document to the immigration office. In some cases immigration posts will accept your spouse as a dependant, make the appropriate changes and issue new landing documents. In other cases they will ask you to reapply.

If you land before you get married, you can then sponsor your spouse.

When asked a question by an immigration officer in Canada, you should always tell the truth.
