Joe Li 10-Sep-00, 03:13 PM (GMT) "does orphaned nephew belong dependent child?" I have a orphaned nephew, 13 years old.I want to process famliy immigration for him. I have gotten a full-time job for two months, But I didn't meet financial test. I know my spouse or dependent child who under 19 don't need to meet financial test. Could you tell me orphaned nephew belong dependent child? or orphaned nephew is my dependent child? Can I process famliy immigration for him now? An orphaned nephew who is unmarried and under the age of 19 years can be sponsored in the Family Class as long as the child welfare authority of the province of destination states in writing it has no objection to the proposed arrangements for the reception and care of the orphan.
