"dual citizenship"
I am a U.S. citizen engaged to a Canadian woman. After our marriage, we will primarily live in the states. But someday hope to move to Canada to live. Can i get a dual citizenship that will allow me to live and work in both Countries? And will we have to be married in Canada for me to gain Citizenship there? We will have to be married in the U.S. for her to live here.
Also, i have a Possion Of Controlled Substance charge on my record, along with several Driving Under Suspension charges. The last DUS was about 6 yrs ago, the POCS was over 7 yrs. All fines, and sentences have been paid and served. Will i have to file a Criminal Rehabilitation application to get a dual citizenship?

Looking forward to your reply
Thank you
kyle

Both Canada and the USA do allow for dual citizenship. I would recommend that you look at an excellent FAQ on the topic maintained by Rich Wales.

A review of the charges that you have against you will be necessary to determine if a criminal rehabilitation application will be required.
