"landing and coming back"
thanks david, for informing me that immigration visa can not be extended.

can i land in canada, get sin and bank a/c(max 15 days),come back to india to finish my work here and then go back within 183 days?i.e if i reach canada within 6 months of leaving,no questiona are asked.is it right? RRP is for more than 6 months absence i believe. if questions are asked what documents can i produce to show that i did not intend to leave canada permanently?

within these 183 days,is there a restriction on the max time you can remain away from canada at a stretch?

1. "RE: landing and coming back"
If you return to Canada within 183 days of your landing, and there was any issue as to your status, the immigration department would have to demonstrate that you had intended to abandon Canada. It is uncommon for such issues to arise prior to 183 days of absence within any given 12 month period.

After 183 days, it becomes your responsibility to demonstrate that you did not have the intention to abandon Canada as the place of your permanent residence. Realistically, issues such as bank accounts and the Social Insurance Numbers are not going to be a major influence.

In cases where a very short period is granted prior to expiration of landing documents, our experience is that a strong argument exists that a subsequent absence was necessary to be able to conclude the affairs in the home country. Evidence of these factors could work in your favour in such a case.
