"How to Open Bank Account?"
During my immigration interview, I was asked to open an account in a canadian bank, transfer a certain amount of money, and provide proof to the Canadian Embassy in Damascus/Syria that funds have been deposited into an account at the bank in my name.

I contacted several canadian banks by email to open a bank account, but all of them replied that I cannot open an account before arriving to canada. I finished my medical and I don't know what to do concerning this issu.

Your help is highly appreciated.

I know that some banks will do this, but require signatures and correspondence to be certified by a Canadian embassy. You should try to contact a bank in person and speak to a manager, who may be able to advise you on the requirements.

Alternatively, try to obtain written evidence from a bank that they are unwilling to open an account in your absence.
