"Change in Status from the date of application"
Both me and my fiance had applied for permanent residence to Canada in 1998 from India. However we are still waiting for our interview dates. We are both management consultants working with multinational companies in India and have both applied under the skilled worker category. We have been planning to get married but decided to put it off until the process is completed. How long does it usually take for the interviews to be scheduled?
Would it be better to get married in India and re-apply under the family class? or wait until the process is over and marry in Canada if we gt through?

In New Delhi, the delays until selection interview can be as much as 30 months.

It is not apparent that you would be eligible to apply in the Family Class based on the information that you have provided.

The timing of your marriage is not likely to have a significant effect on the processing time that will be incurred.
