"Thank you so much Mr. Cohen"
Dear Mr. Cohen,

Thank you so much Mr. Cohen. Your forum has proved to be of great help to me.

I already have my IMM and want to apply for my fiancee, whom I am planning to marry very soon. How should I proceed. Do I have to re-apply for both of us and will it take the same time to process, as it took to process my application.

Please advise.

Thanks and Regards

After you have landed, you may initiate a sponsorship once you have met the minimum income requirements. Once married, however, such income requirements may be waived as long as you are not on social assistance, as the sponsor.

You may wish to refer to the Family Class section of the Canadian Immigration FAQ for further details.

Thanks Mr. Cohen, I understand that the length of the sponsorship process varies depending on the Visa Office to which application is submitted. Considering urgency of the situation, which would be the right place(office) accordingly to you.

I also understand that Sponsorship cases are a priority at all Visa Offices and such applications are processed ahead of skilled worker applications and applications under the Business Immigration Program. CAN YOU GIVE SOME INDICATION ON TIME, SO THAT I CAN PLAN THINGS FOR MY FIANCEE ACCORDINGLY. MAY I ASSUME THAT IT WOULD TAKE LESS THAN SIX FOR MY FIANCEE TO JOIN ME.

I will highly appreciate your reply.

Sponsorship applications generally require 12-18 months, on average.

Amendmentment an existing application generally requires 5 months. In cases where such amendment is impossiible within the validity of issued landing documents, resubmission of the application may be requested by the visa office.
