"Landing by road?"
Hi

I am in the US on a H-1B visa. I have received Canadian landing papers for myself and my family. I intend to visit Toronto in May for the landing, after which I will return to the US for some time. I will return to Canada for good in November.

My question: Is it possible to do the initial landing by road? I stay in New Jersey. Can I drive across to Toronto in my own car? Is the immigration service at the border geared up to register PR landings? Your advise would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, landing may be conducted at one of the port of entries that you would drive across. This is not unusual.

You may take your own car as long as it does not need any modifications to be eligible for import. See the following URL for details:
