"Adoption"
I have read much about adoption but nothing which fits my circumstances. I am 38 years old and have found my 'original' family. They live in Toronto and I would like very much to join them. My two Sisters and Father are all Canadian citizens but citizenship was not taken out until about 1976 although he travelled back from Canada for his wife to have me. Are there any grounds which might allow reunification of UK born individual who sadly has no immediate other family with her siblings? Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

1. "RE: Adoption"
The official policy for the purpose of immigration applications is that adoption severs any biological ties.

You should start by considering your eligibility as an independent applicant. If you are not eligible, you may consider a request for consideration of Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds.

Many thanks, I suspected that might be the answer. With your experience, is there any hope of an Humanitarian or Compassionate case being sucessful. I will not qualify for independant immigration and can see this as the only was I can be reunited with what is now the only 'family' I have. If there's no real chance I would rather know so can plan a holiday!

3. "RE: Adoption"
H&C applications are highly discretionary, making it difficult to render any prediction. Given the policy regarding adoption, however, it will be an uphill battle.
