"Will this case pass the Interview in HongKong?"
Hi Dr Cohen,

My borther-in-law and his family (wife and 9 year old son) will have an immigration interview(independent class) next month in HK. Here is the situlation: 1) BS in Automation Engineering and > 10 years of solid work experience, 2) a TOEFL 557, 3) was accepted to MSC program, Dept of Computer Science, Univ of Victoria, entrance date was May 2000(This expired but may be extended to May'01).

His English is OK as indicated by his TOEFL and graduate addmission in Canada. What you do think his chance to pass the interview? or, what are the issues that he needs to pay attention to?

Thank you very much in advance.

Merry Chritmas and Happy New Year!
Charles

Without knowing all the details of the case and its documentation, it is impossible to predict the outcome of the application. Specific advice on applications can be rendered only to clients of this office.

One immiediate concern, however, is that his apparent intention to study in Canada is contrary to the intent of the skilled worker program(assuming that he is the principal applicant), and could jeopardize the case.
