"applying from within canada"
 
   I am married to a canadian citizen for a few years now. Our son is 3 years old.. born in Montreal. After I lost my job in the US (H1B) I drove to Montreal (I have a multiple visitor visa) and we have recently applied for PR from within Canada. I was told that the waiting times for AIP are ~ 7-9 month. I would appreciate if you could clarify, what I can do with my car, didn't want to sell it in the US. The car is still registered/insured in the US.. would like to "legalize" it in Canada. Any idea? Thanks in advance.

   You should contact the Societe d'assurance automobile du Quebec, who will be able to advise you on the procedure to register the car here.
