"who is a "relative"?,etc"
Dear Mr.Cohen:

I am in the process of making an online self-assessment in your site re: the point sysytem. My questions are:

1. Can a niece of mine, 42 yrs of age, married, an immigant, and a daughter of my first cousin, be considered a relative under the rules?

2. My wife is a B.S. Nursing graduate, never practised
her course but worked in financial institutions and banks as
asst.manager-account mgt. division. Can she be given full pts.
in the ETF criteria?

Your reply will be of great help.

Thank you.

1. The relationship stated would generally qualify neither as an assisted relative, nor as an accompanying dependent.

2. The ETF which is assessed for such an applicant would depend on the intended occupation under which she is evaluated. A thorough review of the case would be necessary to make that determination.

If an applicant does not have training in the field of the stated intended occupation, however, it is unlikely that the ETF score for that occupation would be awarded.
