"Application Receipt Date"

I applied for Canadian PR in March 2002 at RPC-Buffalo. Subsequently, I received the Acknowledgement of Receipt (AoR) containing my file number stated and a date (in July 2002) that was stamped on the letter. Additionally, there was a receipt for the processing fees sent with the application; this receipt was dated in March 2002.

So, which date is the Application Receipt Date - the date in March 2002 (on the processing fees receipt) or the date in July 2002 (stamped on the AoR? Please clarify.

The reason for my query is because the Consulate General of Canada-Buffalo, on their web site, states that they are currently processing applications received in February 2002 AND I would like to estimate how much longer will it take them to get to my application.

Thank you for your help.

The Date of Application Receipt is the date the consulate cashed the processing fees for your file. This is your "lock-in" date.

In your case, your application will be reviewed with those files received in the month of March 2002.
