"Applying for extended stay?"

Could anybody please tell me if it is better (or does it make any difference at all ?) to apply for a visitor visa extension after
or before an application for permanent residence (family class - spouse) has been submitted. Any help/info is appreciated :)

Your status in Canada should be valid at such time as you apply for an inland sponsorship. Assuming that that is the case, the timing of the request for such an extension would not otherwise be consequential.
