I would like to connect with anyone who has recently sponsored, or is sponsoring, a spouse to immigrate to canada from cuba.

My spouse lives in Cuba and I am in Canada. CIC does not give visitor visas to cubans (well, low income people that are not homeowners) and so we have been apart for 10 months waiting.

Can anyone tell me how long the visa office in havana takes to process these applications these days. Everything including his medicals have been completed since August 2002 and they received his application on July 11 2002. His background inquiry is still processing and it started on September 9 2002.
