"Immigration Case"

I had applied for Canadian Immigration under skilled category in March 2001 through Hong Kong Canadian High Commission. At that time(2001) I was in Pakistan. They told me that your application is put in interview que and after that i never heard anything from them except that they are still processinfg my case.. Then I moved to USA to pursue my masters.(late 2001). I haven't yet informed them about latest development. Now i have got married too. I haven't yet included my wife in the immigration process. My quetsion is should i apply fresh for my family here in USA or should i get my case transferred from Hong Kong to USA(that will take some time). I still got atleast two years to complete my masters. so this is kind of time frame I am looking at to get my immigration case finalized.
pls recommend what is the best strategy to go about it to save time?

Regardless of whether or not you transfer the application, you must advise the visa office of the change to your family staus.

It is unlikely that withdrawing the case and resubmitting a new one is the best approach. The decision to transfer your application, however, is complicated and would have to consider your total score under the present criteria, and expected processing times in the USA. Ifr the case cannot be concluded in the USA while you are still there, the transfer of the application could inevitably result in more delays.
