"Returning Residence"
I am based in Dubai and have recently joined MNC, which is Oracle Solution Provider for the middle east market. I am keen to gain this experience and want to spend a year or so with this company. This company has also bagged key software projects in this territory. I am certain this experience would help me get better job in Canada.

The Immigration Document says that I have to enter before Feb.2001. Can I apply for Returning Residence, which would allow me to be away for a year.

I understand from various people that nowadays Returning Residence is not issued for more than six months on any pretext.

Please advise the possible way.

1. "RE: Returning Residence"
The duration of a RRP, if issued, is generally one year. Realistically, however, permanent residents of Canada who currently cannot demonstrate significant ties to Canada at the time of such an application are typically refused.
