"Question rearding Landed Immigrant eligibility"

I am currently qualified for applying as a landed immigrant due to having a masters degree, 7 yrs plus work experience as engineer , uncle in canada.
However, in April 1994 i was arrested for petty theft in US (i was a dumb kid back then) and as a result had deferred adjudication for 1 year, 100$ fine and some 40 hrs community service which i spent washing cop cars. At the end of the sentence, the court and also FBI records say " the period of deferred adjudication imposed has expired and this case is terminated without a finding of guilt entered".
the max jail term for this crime in the USA is max 6 mths prison but being my first offense got none. it is also classified as a class B misdeamenor in the state i resided in back then.
my question is if i am excludable to apply as a landed immigrant under these circumstances and should i bother applying. does using an attorney improve my chances ?

The question on Schedule 1 of the application is much more encompassing than convictions alone. As such, you will be required to provide details of this past conviction, and may be subject to the requirement of a criminal rehabilitation application.
