"spouse"

   Hi,

I submitted my application for PR in Buffalo in March 2001. I completed my interview in detroit successfully yesterday. They are awaiting my medicals and after which they said I should be all set. I am currently on a work permit in Canada which expires in mid 2004.

Now I want to get married to a girl from India and have three choices to get her to canada with me after marriage:

1. bring her as a dependant on my work permit.
2. send in an spouse amendment to my current app.
3. wait for my landing papers and then sponsor her.

Can you please recommend what I should do or if there is any other easier way out? Thanks for your help.

If you marry prior to the issuance of landing documents, the best approach would typically be to seek your spouse's amendment to your existing application. It may also be possible to seek an open employment authorization for her at such time on the basis of the Spousal Pilot.
