"Police Certificates"

Dear Mr.Cohen:

Thank you for all the help. I have a question on the police certificates. Last December I went to my home country for vacations and I got my police certificate which is valid for a year. However, I have been living in Canada for 4 years now and I only spent 1 year since my 18th birthday in my home country. Anyway, this December my police certificate expires, but I havent been out of Canada in the whole year. Would it matter if I send my police certificate as it is or would I have to contact my consulate to get it renewed. Can't I just send this police certificate and the one from Canada?

In response to message #0

if you can demonstrate that you have not returned to your home country, many immigration officials would accept the previous police clearance for a country in which you are no longer resident. This would be the case especially if you can document a reasonable effort to obtain a newer clearance.
