"Permanent Residency"

Can an Immigrant currently staying in Canada on a valid visa
go for medical in the country of his choice (native country)
when he applies for PR?
OR is there is a rule that he has to go for the medical in Canada
itself?
Thanks a lot.. this site and this discussion forum has been
of great help ... thanks again!!

Medical Examinations can be conducted at any designated practitioner worldwide, regardless of the location at which a case is being procesed.

   Thanks for the reply.
While looking at the general information on "Medicals", I have come across this:
"Though this is generally confined to a standard physical exam including blood and urine tests and x-rays, prior medical records as well as your mental state will be examined"
What does it mean by prior medical records? When do we have to submit them and how do we get them?
Do they ask everyone for prior medical records or they ask randomly?
Thanks again...

If there is evidence of an adverse condition, an applicant may be able to provide prior medical records or prognoses which support admissibility.
