"Peru Waiting Time"

Thanks for the wonderful website and your fast-track responses to the participant's questions hopefully you have an answer for me.

So here is the situation my Girlfriend is applying for PR in Canada from Peru and has already gotten her Quebec certificate and submitted her Canadian application to the Canadian embassy in Lima Peru on August 5th. But has heard nothing since.

My question is how long does it usually take to get a PR Visa from Peru? And is there anything I or she can do to speed things up?

The Canadian Embassy in Lima usually issues the fist communication, the Acknowledgment of Receipt within 12 weeks from the date of submission. If your girlfriend has not obtained same by now, she should forward an enquiry to the embassy to request this information.

The Canadian Embassy does not usually divulge information over the phone, as such her best option would be either to either fax the embassy or mail them an enquiry.

The Canadian Embassy has an average processing time of 12-18 months, however as your girlfriend has already obtain a CSQ, it may take less time for the application to be processed and finalized.

There is nothing to be done to expedite the process other than to provide the embassy with any requested information/documents as early as possible.
