"Getting spouse to Canada"

I am a permanent resident of Canada and has just arived 2 weeks ago. During the time I received my Canadian PR Visa and landing documents from Sydney office, I met my wife to be and we have been together during the time when final processing of my application was underway.

The canadian immigration office in sydney strongly advised me not to make any change to my family configuration subsequent to receiving my visa and prior to being granted Permanent Residence status in canada.

I did follow their advice and I am here in Canada without my future wife. She is now 4 months pregnant and we plan to get married soon. Please advice me on options available to get them (wife and baby)over to Canada. the baby is due to be born in May next year.

The quickest solution to your situation would be for your spouse to seek admission to Canada as a visitor. Once she is here, it would typically be possible to process an application inland. Although this is presently taking longer than applications processed abroad in many cases, it would allow you to remain together.

If she is not granted admission as a visitor, you will have to submit an undertaking for sponsorship in the Family Class, which would be concluded overseas.
