"How to get FBI/RCMP no objection certificate??"

   Hello Mr Cohen,

How do I go about getting the 'no criminal' certificates? I mean contact which office? or where to mail in the request?

Below is the timeline of my application for others benefit at Bufflow Consulate
Applied : 24th Oct 2001
AOR : 7th Dec 2001
Inital Assessment : 1st Nov. 2002 (Interview : Not required for now!)

Required to send: FBI + RCMP no objection certificate and current bank statement of account.
Medical papers attached, but asked to do medicals only after 6 months from now???? Has anybody else recieved this? What is the reason for this?

Thank you

The request for the 6-month delay in completing your medical examinations is
to provide the immigration office adequate time to process the
police/criminal background verifications. As the medical results are only
valid for one (1) year, the verifications may not be completed on time,
thereby requiring you to redo your medicals again.

A) FBI Instructions:

Go to your local police station, or FBI field office, or Immigration Service
Center, or American embassy/consulate, and ask them for an FBI finger print
form.

Have them place your fingerprints directly on this fingerprint form. If the
local police are unable to place your fingerprints on the card, you may,
instead also use the services of a fingerprinting agency. These agencies can
be often be found listed in the "Yellow Pages" phone book directory.

Next, complete the information on the form. Then write a brief letter to the
FBI explaining why you need this clearance (ie: "Canadian Government
requires it for immigration purposes.").

Finally, mail the fingerprint form, along with the letter, and a money order
to the FBI. Note, the FBI often accepts finger prints on non-FBI fingerprint
cards. Most local
police fingerprint cards are an acceptable alternative.

Money order: $18 US.
Payable by: Certified check, or money order (NO personal checks).
Payable to: "U.S. Treasury"

FBI Address:

FBI
CJIS DIVISION
Attention: Special Correspondence -- Mode -- D2
1000 Custer Hollow Road
Clarksburg, West Virginia
26306, USA

CANADIAN CRIMINAL RECORDS INFORMATION SERVICES

CIVIL FINGERPRINT SCREENING SERVICES

HOW TO OBTAIN A CERTIFIED CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK

1) To conduct a criminal record check we require a full set of fingerprints,
including both rolled and flat impressions of all ten fingers.
NOTE: Civil Fingerprinting Services is responsible for the processing of
criminal records information only and has no role in the decision-making
process relating to the purpose of your application.

In Canada, you must have your fingerprints taken on form C-216C at your
local police station or private accredited fingerprinting agency. Depending
on the police jurisdiction, a fee may be required.

Outside of Canada, contact the nearest local police force which offers
fingerprinting services. Please note that a fingerprint form must include
rolled and flat impressions of all 10 fingers, the full name and date of
birth of the applicant, the name of the police agency, and the signature of
the official taking the fingerprints.

Note: Canadian embassies and consulates do not have adequate resources or
facilities to provide this service.

2) Complete the fingerprint form according to the instructions below (# 3 -
# 7) and ensure that a full set of fingerprints is provided for
identification purposes.
NOTE: Incomplete applications will be returned unprocessed.

3) Clearly indicate the reason for applying (e.g. adoption, foreign travel,
Canadian citizenship).

NOTE: Applicants for employment or volunteer work must specify the job title
or position sought in the REASON FOR APPLICATION portion of the fingerprint
form.

Applicants for landed immigrant status/immigration to Canada must enter the
name and address of the Canadian Immigration Centre, Embassy, Consulate or
High Commission in the Name and Address of Contributing Agency/Dept portion
of the C216C. If you have an immigration file number, write it below the
address as a reference for immigration officials.

4) Ensure you provide your full name, date of birth, sex, telephone number,
and mailing address.

5) Verify the information recorded by the official taking your fingerprints
and ensure that the official's name and the name of the agency is indicated.

6) Enclose with your request a certified cheque or money order for $25.00
(Canadian) or $18.00 (US) payable to the "Receiver General for Canada", for
criminal record searches for the following:

border crossing permits
employment (see exceptions below)
foreign travel
visa/waiver applications

pardons

Note: You must submit a fingerprint form and a fee for each separate type of
request. (i.e. US Waiver and Pardon Applicant requires two fingerpint forms
and two fees.)

7) Forward your request with all other relevant documents to:
(Note: If you want your results returned by courier, enclose a prepaid
