"Doctor's concern"
Dear sir,

Both me and my husband are romanian doctors(ophtalmologist and anesthesiologist respectively). We would really want to immigrate to Canada but from what I've heard doctors are not welcome there. We are willing to work hard and even to change the work field if necessary. Both of us are fluent in english and french. Is there any possibility to help us to get there?
I must mention that my sister is a permanent resident in Toronto and she is willing to sponsor and help us with money if necessary.

Thank you,
Andreea Nicolcescu

It is not that Canada does not welcome doctors, but rather that the immigration system does not include that occupation in the list of professions that are eligible in the absence of arranged employment. Compounding the situation is that arranged employment would generally be contingent on demonstration of the necessary licensing to practise this profession in Canada.

Depending on the duties performed and the training of the professional, however, Anesthesiologists may qualify in the skilled worker program. We have, in fact, successfully represented an anesthesiologist. You may wish to complete an online assessment, being as detailed as possible about your duties, to determine your eligibility.
